Best way to duplicate DTV HD DVR to 2 TVs

I currently have two areas where I have a main TV but also am putting in a Samsung 19" HD LCD in a secondary area. In one area I have the DirecTV HD DVR and in the other I still have my Tivo HD (HR10-250).

For area 1, I need to feed a duplicate video signal approx 55' (+/- 5' for getting to crawlspace).

For area 2, I need probably about 25 ft max.

For the 1st area, I'm thinking of taking the component output from the HR10-250 and using a pair of balun to run that signal to the TV while using the HDMI output for feeding the main TV. Does this work? Can the HR10-250 output on both composite and HDMI at the same time?

Seems like for the 2nd area I could just get an passive HDMI splitter and run the output from the DTV HD DVR to both TV sources.

Any other suggestions/ideas?

My experience is that there needs to be a 1-to-1 relationship between HD source and HD display as they need to communicate authorization information. Fan-out is allowed, but the fanout will be SD. Extenders are the natural way to distribute HD, but I am not aware of any HD extenders in the commercial marketplace.

I believe that both component and hdmi will not work at the same time. I would buy two of these (they work great) and use component video audio cables.

A Few quick searches:

Some may only duplicate Video only, be sure to double check.

As far as HDMI over the distances required you may have to use some HDMI over CAT5 baluns or these:

I had found a bunch of those but was looking for something less expensive. The only thing that spurred me to get the two new TVs was being able to get them for $200 ea from Fry's on Black Friday. I'd prefer to find a solution that costs less than the TVs  I guess I shoulda titled the thread "Best cheap way to duplicate...".

One TV has arrive but my component baluns have not yet. Hopefully I can try this out early next week.

I don't need audio to the 2nd TVs because they're in the same room as the main TVs. Basically they're just for people either in the back of the room or who are looking away from the main display due to cooking or anything else.

The HR10-250 will not output HDMI and component simultainsely without a hack.

For my TV's I am using:

HR20, HD-DVD, HR20, and HTPC to a Monoprice 4 in 1 out HDMI switcher that goes to a Gefen 1 in 4 out HDMI distribution box, then out through three 50 foot Monoprice HDMI cables to my televisions.

Works great..

Thats true. But I also forgot to mention that I had a Pioneer receiver in the mix as well. Turns out that it will allow me to take the component output to the 2nd TV while still having the HDMI to my primary TV. So although my original idea didn't work, the Pioneer appears to work for me, at least for this scenario. now I just need to mount the TV and wire it all in.

Next up - figuring out the same thing for room #1, once that TV arrives
