Beta test a free android app for WebControl

We posted a link in this thread of discussion for the source code, user can download the app source and modify it anyway he likes.  For example adding multiple boards support.
The source code is in Java, so that people must have good understanding of Java to be able to make the change.

Current app only support one board, because inside it has only one database.

I don't see an link,

There is mention to contact you as the file is more than 2mb.

"The app source has been published before, and its size is 2MB, larger than this site allowed upload file.  If Anyone needs it, please contact us directly."

Thank you for the link, I downloaded the files.

Anyone out there willing to help me with this? I'm willing to learn, :)

Thank you.

You will need to download and install JDK, and Eclipse EE edition. Both of them are free.  Once you installed then, you can start the Eclipse, from that you can open the download project, You will see all the java code and database in it.  The database can be modified using apache extension database tool.

You will need to use Eclipse open function to find the WC8 app source directory, then open the project. I am not Eclipse expert, you have to find a Eclipse book on how to use it to write app.

Once you figured out, you can post here to help others.

I was able to open the project, however, it's full of error, 100 error out of 123. Not sure how to continue, as it will not allow me to run the project because iff the errors.

You probably did not open the correct place. The source code was from the working directory of the development machine.  That was build find.  Was your Eclipse EE edition?  Did you have full JDK installed?  Could you please try your setup with simply hello program to see if the installation is correct?  Since we can not post any link to this forum, I can not show you where to download that example.  But if you search
pradnyanaik.wordpress.com android-installation-on-windows7-and-creating-a-simple-hello-world-program
you probably can find that example to test your android development platform.

Siafu,

Do you have any luck to compile the code?  There are some good books on Amazon about Eclipse and App development worth to read.

Hi Cai,

No I gave up, as it was to complicated.

Maybe someone who has already done it, can post the installation file for a second Web controller for Android?

Thank you.

Hello all,

Has anyone attempted to control two cai webcontroll boards with this app?

Would love to be able to as I have two boards, and thinking of getting a third one.

This app, if you look into the source code, has only one database. If you want to manage more than one, then you will need to modify the code to add more database to store the configurations for each board.  It is written in Java.

Does anyone know of a version of My Webcontrol or My Robot that will work on Android ver 5.1 ? I was using ver 1.0 on my old Droid Razr and it worked well for me but the battery got so bad I had to upgrade and now the old version won't run on my new phone.
Thanks
