In 2008, My wife and I acquired some land and designing a new house. My brother has a Nuvo system, and I really liked the idea of the system, so I started investigating what was suggested for pre-wiring my house for a whole house audio system.
I started researching the wiring on the internet and found myself continually landing on Home Automation pages, including Cocoontech. After a few days of reading about all the neat projects everyone else was doing with full blown automation, I knew I was going to end up with far more than just a whole house audio system.
After following the wiring guides on cocoontech and the advice of many posters, the house was built and the wires installed. We have moved in to our house and now the fun begins. Hopefully this blog will provide the opportunity for others to follow and comment on my progress and perhaps provide a log for others to not make the mistakes that I am sure to make along the way. I am as much of a rookie in home automation as anyone could be, so it will be fun to share my progress from “nothing†to who knows where. Enjoy the ride.
I will be posting a couple of “Catch up†posts over the next couple of days to log some milestones that I have reached since we moved in, but then after that I will try to keep everyone up to date with my progress.
Let the journey begin…..
