caddx nx8e resetting to factory defaults?

I tried to add users to my brand new NX8E last night, thinking I would create a new master code for the unit so that it would no longer be managed by the default code. I thought I had created two new users and a new master code so I shut off the default master codes ability to add new codes. None of the new codes seem to have taken and the default code no longer changes codes. What can I do to fix this?

If I reset to factory defaults will I have to reprogram the sensors, i hope not because I have them right where I want them?

Do you have the panel connected to a computer and using DL900? Other than that, I don't know of a way to reset to factory defaults. Does anyone know?

I have the cable on order and the DL900 is installed, so hopefully I will be able to go.

You can reset the panel back to factory defaults via the keypad. I have my notes at home of the exact key sequences that I can post later on.

Thanks, I will use them when you post them. It will be interesting to see if I can get the panel talking to my DL900 software once my cable arrives

If you reset back to factory results, your panel will not communiate with the DL900 software unless you setup appropriate parameters first. Details HERE.

To default a device:

*8 + <Programming Code, the default is 9713) + <Device ID, the panel is 0># + 910#

Remember, EACH device has their own factory defaulting option, meaning if you default the main panel (0#), the wireless board for instance (32#) won't be defaulted. You need to specify that device's ID and then also 910#. I don't remember seeing this written in the book, but I ended up figuring it out a while back when I was re-installing my NX-8E.
