Can you Mix Parts ?

Can you mix Parts from one to another? I am looking at the HAI WEATHER PROOF TEMP Sensor. Can I put it on the ELK?

I am no HAI expert, but I doubt it, due to totally different designs/protocols. Many security sensors are interchangeable, especially if they are simple open/close type sensors. Temp sensors are much more complicated, unless you are talking a simple thermostatic type sensor (on above a certain temp, off below that temp).

the HAI temp sensors take the temp and convert it to a voltage which the HAI panel reads. Because the HAI panel was designed to do this, its easy for it to translate this voltage to a temp. An ELK is not designed to read these sensors. So while many parts are interchangeable, this isn't one of them.
