Can't change Omnistat2 temp from OmniPro II?

I dont seem to be able to control the temperature on the OmniStat2 from my OmniPro II. I'm pretty sure that the wiring is correct since the current temp, humidity and endpoints all display properly from my OmniTouch and console. As well, the time gets set correctly on the omnistat.

I have noticed that when I try to change the temp, the omnistat flashes and the setpoint I'm trying to adjust gets hilighted, but that's all.

I also made sure that the omnistat has a program mode of none.

Anyone know what I can try to correct this?

Maybe "hold" on your omnistat is on?

That's odd; I do this all the time and never have a problem with it. And I don't recall the setpoint ever highlighting in that manner when the controller changes it, although maybe I haven't been watching closely enough.

Do you have more than one? If so, make sure each one has a different address. You might also want to check and make sure the thermostat has a name in the setup -- I seem to recall an issue with that.

It is most likely the HOLD...

When a command to change the setpoint is sent the setpoint is highlighted and enlarged for a second or so, but if HOLD is on then the value does not change. This is intentional to to allow local override of the programming whether is the internal programming or from the Omni.

If you want the Omni to override the manual hold, you can command the hold off then send the change setpoint command.

THEN Living Room HOLD OFF
THEN Living Room COOL SETPOINT 75

Of course you can test for the hold mode in a condition and make a decision as the whether or not to override the manual hold.

Yup.. that's what it was! I guess it never occured to me that it works this way since locally I can adjust the temp without having to take it off hold.

Thanks alot for the help.

It's useful, actually. If you need to stop a thermostat from being changed by the controller, you just put it on hold, and you don't have to muck about disabling rules. I have all of my thermostat setbacks being done with rules, rather than using the programming in the stat. Last month I had one of my heat pumps crap out, hours before we were supposed to throw a big party (on Saturday, naturally). I jiggered settings on all the systems to try to keep the whole house comfortable without using emergency heat on the failed zone too much, and then put all of the stats on hold, and just tweaked them by hand until I could fix the broken unit on Monday.
