Cellular Booster?

Does anyone know of a good but cheaper cell phone booster? Out of my trailer park we can use our Verizon cell phones towards the entrance very well but back where our trailer is its intermittent outside the trailer and difficult inside most of the time but not always. So my wife is asking if they make something that we could mount on the trailer to help boost the signal. We both use Verizon.

Thanks

Well what is the cheapest way to do this and have it work? I will let my wife decide if the cost is worth it to her.

Most of the repeaters I have seen are pretty expensive (in the few-houndred dollar range). If you go with a repeater, you will want to make sure that the frequency matches your phone's.

This site has a nice little animation on how the repeaters work: http://www.cellboosterstore.com/

This model was one of the cheapest ones I could find. I'm not sure if it will work with your Verizon phones, as is states "some models of Verizon".

we have sprint and have had bad coverage at home until they gave us an airave free ( http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/08/13/s...t-airave-review ) and waived the monthly fee. it's not a typical booster - it does give you a better signal - but rather than boosting your signal to get to the next cell tower, instead it routs your call over your internet connection. it works great. verizon is supposed to have something like this so you may want to find out.

Well seeing as how the resort is in the middle of a corn field with no high speed internet service I doubt that is not going to help... but will keep it in mind for my home.

CellAntenna.com has one that's $350
http://www.cellantenna.com/repeater/cae50cel.htm

I haven't tried that model, but I've worked with them before on a slightly larger setup - was more like $600 once I added the 100ft. cable and two antennas...

Another product I'm seeing that's cheaper...

supposed to support 3G and basically all the Verizon/Sprint phones. They have one under $200 for verizon too, but says it doesn't support 3G. 30-day return policy. You'll want to be able to stick an omnidirectional antanna up a little bit... create some separation and get it a little higher than the top of the trailer.
