Hey guys im new to the forums to be easy on me ;)

I just purchased a home where i want to install a home automation system. The home was built in 1972 and currently has a wired honeywell Ademco alarm system with door, window and motion sensor in the house. I have begun installing Intermatic Z-Wave 3 way switches and lamp modules. My final task is to combine both of these items together with a desktop pc that i will be using for both this and some IP cameras that i want to install.

Im hoping that i can get recommendations from the community not only for a replacement/addition to my alarm system to allow its devices to connect to the PC, but also a way to control both the alarm sensors and the lights in a seamless way, where one is able to trigger actions on the other for the least expensive price.

Thank you all.

I'm a fan of HomeSeer and the Elk M1 Gold. Maybe check into those as HomeSeer can integrate with the Elk and has an excellent interface for Z-Wave based on one of their developer's (Tink) recent posts!!

Elk m1G will communicate directly with a bunch of home automtion lines. http://www.elkproducts.com/products/m1/m1partners.htm I am using an ISY 99/Inteon setup but zwave is also supported. I don't know any details about zwave however.
