Clean Me

The 521BXT is an approved smoke detector for the M1-EZ8.

The 521BXT has a clean me function that can be turned on for
supported alarm panels.

Does anyone know if the M1-EZ8 supports Clean ME and if so
how does the EZ8 show that a smoke detector is calling out
to be cleaned?

The M1 and EZ8 DOES support the GE Smoke Detectors with the Clean Me feature on the two wire smoke zone.

The M1 LCD keypad will scroll "Clean Me" on the bottom line of the LCD keypad when the Clean Me signal from the smoke detector is detected. It is extremely hard to get a smoke detector with the clean me feature to trigger the Clean Me signal. We kept adding tiny pieces of paper into the smoke chamber until it finally triggered.

Probably the peel off plastic protective strip will still be on the LCD anyway. :lol:
