Clear history Log Elk M1

Is it no way I can do this without RP? I purchased the 9pin serial cable but my laptop doesn’t have serial port, is it anyone who knows where I can get a serial to USB converter which works with windows 7?

The Tripp-Lite USB to serial adapter works great, it adds a Com port which is used by Elk M1. I have windows 7 OS and did not need to load the drivers on the cd or the Elk M1 USB driver available at Elk M1 site.

This is one I've recommended for a while now... I do a lot of networking which uses Serial ports all the time - so I have a constant need to use a Serial port on multiple computers - and I've been through nightmares trying to find ones that work reliably.

That one I linked to has worked 100% of the time, every time - on probably 50 different computers, OS' from 2003 to Windows 8 and OSX with no issues ever; and the other problem with USB to Serial adapters is sometimes they'll work for a little bit then drop off - I actually have 3 of those plugged into my Home Automation server and they've run reliably for a couple years now.  I have bought so many of these, as I equipped everyone on my staff with one for each of their bags and to use for servers, etc... never a complaint.
