DSC Components and the Elk

Hey guys, I currently have a home alarm system that was provided and installed by my monitoring company (Guardian Alarm). As far as I can tell the system components are all DSC. I currently have some motion sensors, door sensors and a smoke detector. The control panel is the PC5010/PowerSeries 832. The motion detectors look to be the Bravo 6 PIR. Can't really tell what the door sensors are, although there are two types, one type is a contact and the other type seems to be some type of a depression switch.

Here are my questions. I am planning to put in an Elk system and I was curious if there is any way to know if the DSC components are compatible with the Elk. Second is I would like to add some more sensors, a couple of motions, a bunch of windows sensors, and a couple of glassbreaks. I was wondering if I should just call and have my monitoring provider come out and install these components (I assume they will be DSC again, but not positive) before I integrate the Elk or is there a better option I should just install on my own? If I didn't have the monitoring company do the installation I could probably install the motion and glasbreaks myself, but I have no idea how to do the window sensors.

While I'm at it I have I have a question on window sensors. Almost all of my windows are of the type that both sides can open, so having a contact sensor at one end won't guarantee the other end of the window isn't open. I would rather not have two sensors per window, so are there sensors that can be placed in middle where the two halves meet when they are closed?

Along with the additional interior sensors when I integrate the Elk I will tie in several outdoor motion sensors and automate some light switches/outlets, and provide voice announcements of activities.

Thanks for your input.
