ELK-73 vs ELK-SP12F

I need to add a few speakers around the house. I already have one ELK-73 and two ELK-SP12F behind my keypads. I am thinking of either adding one or two more ELK-73 around the house, or put an ELK-SP12F in every room. Are there any obvious differences that I am missing that will make me choose one over the other? The ELK-SP12F are handy because they are cheap and are 32 ohms, but I am not sure if the ELK-73 is superior in any way for my purpose?

It's likely all in how you wire them, and how visible you want them. The SP12's are a high resistance so you can add a whole bunch of them... but if you calculate out the resistance you should be able to work several combinations of the two.

Does anyone know what the rated watts output is @ 8/4 ohms on the M1G? I didn't see anything listed in the manual. I see the 73 is rated @ 20W and the 12 @ 12W.

The main limitation is output current of the system. Try to keep the alarm current to 2 amps or less. Do not drop below a 4 ohm load on the Output 1 amplifier.

You can wire 8 of the 32 ohm SPI12F speakers in parallel to get a 4 ohm load on the M1's output amp. If using 8 ohm speakers you can wire multiple speakers in series and parallel combinations to not drop below a 4 ohm load.
