Elk and TX15-B

Hello Everyone,

First time post. I am hoping someone can help me with the configuration of an Elk M1G, serial port expander and RCS TX15-B. I have looked at the documentation for the serial port expander but it doesn't seem to mention this model, yet I have read other form posts indicating people have used it. All help is appreciated. Thanks.

Basically, I just don't know physically how to hook it up. I know the box hooks up to the WDU (wall display unit) but I'm not sure how the Elk interfaces with it. I have the serial port expander so physically it looks like I could wire that up, but I don't think this unit talks serial. I may simply have to control it using pure X10 so in that respect it would be just another X10 device the Elk sees, but I'm not sure.

Did I buy the wrong stat? I thought this one was supported but I'm starting to think I made an expensive mistake.

The TX15B is a bi-directional X10 unit and not serial based.

Yes, I understand that. I was wondering if maybe it also spoke serial. My real question is: will it work with the Elk MIG?

You can send X10 commands to change the thermostat settings. You will not get any thermostat temperature display on the M1.
