ELK and wireless windows -- Help needed

Hi-

I am finishing my ELK M1 Gold installation, and seem to have found a bug/issue/problem....

On nights when I want to leave my bedroom windows open, I bypass the wireless sensors (GE 60-688-95) and arm the system.
When I get up the net morning, I disarm the system, and it reports Ready to Arm. It does not see that the windows are violated (open).

I contacted ELK support, and they said that when the zone is bypassed, it is forced to Ready.

Apparently, the system does not restore the previous state after the system is disarmed.

The bypass is off (I've checked with the RP software).

So, I have open windows, and my system is telling me the system is OK, and Ready to Arm. B)

ELK's answer was that at the next poling (24 hours per their suggestion) the system would realize the windows are opened, and update the zone.

I find this unacceptable.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?
Is there anything I can do to get the sensors to update their status?

THANKS!

Greg

I'm THRILLED/EXCITED to report that ELK Tech support has developed a BETA firmware update to the wireless receiver, that appears to have corrected the issue. I tested it last night, and it works.

;) :) :)

ELK rocks!!

Welcome to CocoonTech, Greg. Thanks for the update on the firmware. I have a number of wireless sensors in my Elk system, but not that I bypass. That would be bad to work the way it was before the update.

The other solution is to install screens and put the sensor on the screen. Then you get a secure home and open windows :(
