Elk ELK-M1XRF2G compatible sensors and Door Bell Button?

I am looking for new things to add to my HA setup so was wondering what type of Elk ELK-M1XRF2G compatible sensors people are using and for what functions.

Lets hear some of your ideas and uses.


Also is there a Wireless Doorbell button that is compatible with the ELK-M1XRF2G? My current door bell stopped working so it would be great if I could replace it with one that can be tied into the Elk.

You can consider teh GE NX-650 for the doorbell. It has contacts for a remote switch.

Found this bit from Digger in another not very relevant thread:

For a Doorbell you could use an NX-650 with a NC Momentary pushbutton switch. Use ZN Type 16 and have the M1 announce teh front door, beep the keypad or chirp the siren etc.

Kinda knew that.... was asking about the actual Elk doorbell button itself as there is no place to hide the NX-650 (which I use for many things already).

Do you have an existing doorbell? If so, put a wireless door sensor (reed switch) in your doorbell chime housing against the solenoid. You might have to play with the positioning, but the magnetic field generated when the button is pressed should trip it.

Also keep in mind that the ELK ignores repeated signals for 8 seconds. So if someone pressed the doorbell button multiple times, it would only register once every 8 seconds.
