Elk losing Insteon status

Does elk monitor the status of insteon lights or does it just know enough to turn them off and on? Sometimes it will report things on that are off and vise versa. I have an ISY99 connected.

Killervette,
What version of M1 software are you running. You should get the latest released software.

The M1 does hold the status unless it is not receiving it.

I' having an ongoing problem with this as well, but it appears the ISY may be the culprit. I often notice that when I log into it directly, the status of lights is incorrect. The problem may be compounded when viewing through the Elk, though, with even more devices showing up with incorrect status. It's a real pain in the rear, and I have to speak with UDI again soon to try to resolve it.

Elk does monitor the status of individual insteon devices regardless of how they came to be at that status. It will not monitor the status of scenes, it only knows if it turned a scene on or off and leaves it at that status regardless of what happens outside of the elk. Scenes can only be put into the elk via an isy as far as I know so if you don't have an isy then scene status is of no concern. ISY allows for download of the entire lighting setup and import into the elk which is nice. If done this way, then the elk is all set up to monitor the status as the isy links all devices to the plm. If you do it manually, you have to link the plm to track the status of each device you want the elk. Directions for doing this are in the elk manual.

Well, i removed an access point and added 2 switches and a motion today. I am hoping this adds some reliability. I replaced a bad switch, off was working. Maybe that was the cause. i also have a ted 5000. Lots of things could be screwing with it. I am running the latest firmware.
