Anybody out there controlling a spa/hot tub remotely? I'll be using my M1 to control my insteon lights, but I don't believe insteon makes an on/off controller for a 60 amp appliance.
All you need to use is a contactor (large relay) rated for the load. Put it an an acceptable enclosure. You can get them with a low voltage coil and control them using low voltage signals from an Elk relay controlled by the panel.
Edit : something like this may work. checks specs first:
I then purchased a small NEMA 1 enclosure(an outdoor circuit breaker box, removed the circuit breaker and kept the bus bars) and put it inside. Get a contactor that runs on 24 VAC, switch that with a relay. If you pick a sturdy industrial contactor it should last forever.
