What are my options for Keypads for an Elk M1?

It's unfortunate to hear about the limitations/issues with the new touch screens.

Given this information, I honestly think the Elk KP2 keypads are still the "best" option. They look pretty modern (ie they don't have a door that you have to flip open to use) and don't have the issues that the touchscreen options apparently have. The flush mount kit is nice, although it really isn't a true "flush" install. It still sticks out about 3/8", but the regular mount gets installed on top of the wall and it sticks out much further. I would definitely suggest the flush mount.

My original plan was to use the KP2 at that location, but the touch screen seemed to be a better solution. I'm not too concerned about the dropped connections since I will hardwire it the LAN which will hopefully eliminate any drops.

I will probably order one. I'm sure I can find some place to put it, and I think Elk will resolve any problems via firmware updates. According to their support forum, they've already fixed several problems.
