Elk M1 Dealer Forum

There was a post on the M1 Dealer Forum that they will be shutting the forum down at some point in the future. Brad Weeks posted:

You are correct eventually this site will be turned off. With the availability of other Industry and Do It Your Self News Groups (Forums) ELK does not see the need to host our own at this time. Thank you, Brad Weeks Technical Support

I'd like to make a suggestion to anyone who has control over such things... Can Cocoontech contact Elk about getting the forum in raw text form and loading it onto Cocoontech for future use/searching? There is so much good data in the forum it would be a terrible shame for it to get lost forever.

Anyone else feel there would be value in this?

Yes, even though the Elk forum is a poor forum system, there is a lot of good info & answers there. A lot of us have suggested to Elk folks that they close their forum years ago and just link to CT If we can get CT to become the "de facto" or official Elk forum, hopefully we can get more official Elk responses here.

AVSForum comes to mind. They have a Home Automation section over there.

Brad was a frequent contributor on the ELK forum. I hope that his attention and participation would migrate to CT along with the forum contents.

Thanks Dan. I do think it would be very helpful... and will most certainly drive additional traffic to CT. What better way to capture the Elk installer/user market then to take over the Elk forums.
