Elk M1 EEprom Fault

Elk M1 been installed for approx. 2 years no issues until lately.

The system is displaying EEPROM Fault on the keypad. I can change modes say from stay mode to night mode and most times it will clear up the fault. When this change of system mode clears up the fault it will return in a few hours sometimes maybe more.

Any thoughts on this EEPROM Fault?

The M1 is constantly monitoring the EEPROM memory for any memory locations that change without authorization from the M1. Read everything into ELKRP from the M1. Default the M1's EEPROM memory with installer level Global option 45, 99. Dump the programming from ELKRP back into the M1. If the EEPROM memory error comes back in about 24 hours there is a memory location in the EEPROM that has failed. It will take a factory change of the EEPROM memory to fix it.

FYI: EEPROM means Electrically erasable programmable read only memory. This is where all the feature changes are stored.

I am using ElkRP Version 1.6.16 on a windows XP machine

My globals highest tab is for G29 - G42 Special

Any idea how to get a global option of G45 on my RP software, I didnt see anything in the manual for the M1 covering erasing the EEPROM.

Spanky,

I was informed ny a tech today that the Global 45 is a keypad only code not RP.

I have cleared the EEPROM and reloaded my program.

We are now under the 24 hour test window to see if the EEPROM error returns.

Thanks for the information.
