Elk M1 / M1XSP 50.0.26 (Insteon) Issue

I power reset my Elk M1 Gold to clear a system trouble by turning off the power swtich, counting to 30, then turning the power switch back on. This action caused all my Insteon addresses to reset back to 00.00.00. This is the third time this has happened to me. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Yes I have seen that. I put the serial module on a seperate P.S with its own battery backup since it was a pain to re-enroll.

The latest version of firmware addressed this issue, but don't know if it's solved it completely?

This from the release notes of ver. 50.0.26:

*Reports of the M1XSP losing the programmed Insteon ID numbers after a power reset - A modification has been
made to the flash memory write routine to provide additional protection against this possibility.

According to the Insteon Guru, if M1XSP switch S1 is set to "0" position, upon powerup all addresses will be reset. This is used to initialize an Insteon system.

Check the position of M1XSP switch S1.

Spanky, thank you for checking into this issue.

S1 is in the "1" (up) position as indicated on page 18 of the Elk-M1XSP installation manual. I shutdown my Elk before checking this value and lost the Insteon addresses again. h34r:

We tested the Insteon on power up here with the S1 in the proper position and it did not erase the addresses.

We are guessing that there could be a power supply bounce upon power up that is causing the switch to be read in the wrong state. I will be forwarding you new beta test software in which there is a 1 second time delay added before the switch S1 is read to prevent a power supply bounce from affecting the settings.

Let me know if it fixes the issue.

Just checked. Mine is in the up position also.

I upgraded the firmware on my Elk M1XSP, then reloaded my Insteon device addresses and tested to make sure they loaded successfully. I then shutdown my Elk M1 for 30 seconds, then powered it back on and tested. Success! Thank you for such a quick fix to this problem! h34r:
