Thats the idea.
Might want to check the back of your uverse router to see if it has ports built into it. Then you dont really need to power the hub (do you really have a powered hub, or a switch? not that it matters), you would only need to make sure the router is powered which you need no matter what. Also get an idea of how much power this stuff takes just to make sure you are within 2A (I dont see any issues with what you have there but you never know). It would say somewhere on the unit or power pack/wall wart.
Youd have to step the 12V down to whatever voltage if everything isnt 12V, looks like there are plenty of DIYs out there to build your own, or source a pre-built.
