ELK M1 or ISY994i / IR PRO

Hi everybody,
 
I am in the process to update my X-Mas rules and decided to review my existing rules I currently have in my M1 and in my ISY. I was curious to know what system you use for rules.
 
 Currently in my M1 the rules I set up are related to making phone calls when a specific alarm is triggered, automatic arm and disarm of system, notification of who disarmed house etc. I use my ISY to automate the lights of my home depending of what gets triggered including M1 alarms. I also use my ISY to send me notifications based on what alarm of the house was triggered, since the M1 does not support this feature.
 
Should I use the M1 to trigger lights events depending on alarms or ISY if good or makes no difference. What do you use the M1 and ISY for?

I'm new but I've followed what I think seems to be the general consensus here among those more knowledgeable than me - the ISY is more powerful and flexible for controlling lights and other devices. But keep true security control in the Elk.

I'm using Insteon and I started with writing all my lighting rules in the ISY so my experience is limited but FWIW I've read more here about transferring elk lighting rules to ISY than vice versa. It has taken me a while to get acquainted with the ISY's programming but I've been very impressed with its capabilities. Great for also managing insteon scenes.
