ELK M1 Showcase House

There has been several redesigns by the owner which has held up the final low voltage wiring. The security and some automation wiring is complete. No sheet rock is up yet. Next time I am on site, I will take some pictures.

After the ELK-System is working, I'm interested how many rules are in use.

I bet, the rule-storage will be nearly full! I'm estimating this from "100+ loads" and of course "some" inputs and all the security etc

i kinda forgot about this project. glad to hear its rolling.

is there a particular solution that has shown interest? hopefully hardwired. curious about the budget also, LOL.

Not much has happened on the ELK Showcase house except several major remodels of the inside. Some wiring has been pulled, but the automation part is yet to be installed. It is still a couple months away.

The house still does not have the sheetrock up on the inside. Lighting wiring has changed twice and ethernet wiring has been changed. We are just waiting for our turn to install equipment. :(

Wow, someone is taking a bath on that house. I'm sure the carrying costs are killing them. But it sounds like the owner is responsible for the delays.

Has the lighting system been decided on? It sounds like the ALC system could have been a perfect solution.

On a side note, how do you decide to change the ethernet wiring? Just a cat5e vs cat6 type of decision, or did they totally change where they wanted wire pulled? It sounds like the owner(s) cannot make up their mind on anything. ;)

Could actually start a new trend!

The hardest decisions to make are the ones you have to live with forever, like what wiring to place into what walls.
If the walls stay open, you can always replace with the latest and greatest technology as it becomes available!

I always found I didnt put enough, or the right kind AFTER the walls were closed up.
