Elk M1G telephone remote control

I have run into a problem when trying to setup the remote dial-in on my Elk. Some setup params:

I do not have the phone line using a RJ31X for seize. I have a line run to the line side of the elk only.
G29-G42, Rings until answer = 2, two way listen = checked. G01, telephone = 2 local and remote control enabled

When I call the number, the elk answers and asks for a security code. No matter what valid user code I put in, it always says incorrect code. I know I can not use a house phone to dial *** because the lack of the correct wiring for line size/monitor.

I have tried *** code, I have tried code*, code#, I can not get it to give me the menu.

I am disconnected from the M1EXP at the time of testing.

I am running M1G hardware 0.13, boot 3.3.6, fw 5.2.8

Any ideas if my lack of a RJ31X is causing this or what could be the problem?

Are you using a cell to dial in or a land line? If a cell, try changing your DTMF tone length to long within the phone's settings.

Line seize makes no difference to the phone operation from on premises, however it does make a difference from offsite.

*** from any phone connected downstream will force the M1 to pick up the line.

I wanted to provide the outcome of this, turns out the line was wired incorrectly and it was a voice prompt on a MFD answering prompting for the access code and not the Elk. Once the correct line was wired to the Elk all was ok.
