Hi,
I've been looking into using System Sensor i3 smoke detectors with my M1G system. One thing that the i3 devices support is a need-for-maintenance warning when used in combination with the System Sensor 2W-MOD2 device. The problem with this device, however, is that it requires that either all smokes be connected together and to the 2W-MOD2 device and thereby on a single M1G zone, or require an individual 2W-MOD2 device per zone.
Has anyone used the 4wire i3 smoke detectors with the M1G successfully and configured the M1G to recognize the need-for-maintnance signal from the smokes? Is that even possible? Or is the only way via the 2W-MOD2 device?
I'm actually quite confused my the System Sensor documentation about the 2W-MOD2 device. It seems to relate specifically to the the 2 wire smokes, so that makes me wonder if the 4 wire smokes can signal maintanence condition without it.
Thanks for any advice and/or insight!
Eric
