*** ELK M1G work Smoke System Sensor 2WTA-B?

Not sure if the System Sensor 2WTA-B is compatible with M1G. Manual says it compatible with 2WT-B. Not sure what the difference is between the two smokes.

Thanks much.

The model with the A has the sounder, the other does not.

They do work fine with the Elk, but you will need the RRSMOD to reverse the polarity to get every 2WTA-B on the loop to sound at the same time in alarm, otherwise the only one that sounds is the one that detected the smoke/fire.

I do have the RRSMOD installed with seven 2WTAB and one Heat sensor in the garage. I did change out the EOL from 2200 to 820. When i set off one of the smokes not all start sounding. What could be going om?
RRSMOD is from the previous napco panel.

T+ PURPLE TO N/O OUTPUT 3
RED TO +V AUX
BLACK TO -V AUX
BROWN TO + 2WTAB
WHITE TO - 2WTAB
YELLOW TO +ZONE 16
ORANGE TO -ZONE 16

JP1 SET TO 2 Wire
+ V AUX TO COM ON OUTPUT 3

There is a dip switch on the RRSMOD unit, selects continuous voltage triggering vs temp-3 pulse

I believe on the Elk it needs to be set to continuous.  That might be your issue (it was on mine....I didnt see the switch at first)

So you must also have a rule to control Output 3.  Have you successfully tested that rule i.e., Output 3 is switching?  And finally, you haven't told us anything about the heat sensor (manufacturer, model, and wiring).

I did write the rule. Interestingly I only get the option of Strobe light (out3) on in drop down? Does not give me a straight"output" option. Strobe si probably not a continous voltage output?

The heat sensor is GE284b-PL which is at the end of the loop.

Thanks

Now you're making us guess again!  Your rule should be something like:

WHENEVER Smoke Detector (Zn 16) BECOMES VIOLATED
THEN TURN Output 003 (Out 3) ON

What does your rule say?

At some point you gave Output 3 the name "Strobe light" on the Outputs menu.  That's why it says what it does.  May be you should now give Output 3 the name "Smoke Detector Reversing".

Sorry! Have put in long hours in last couple days. Not thinking thru and just answering your questions.
So at some point I must have changed it to Strobe. Its changed to Smoke RRS-MOD. Cant fit your suggested description. Too long.

Zone 16 is labeled for Fire & Smoke, Definition-10 and Type-6.

After the description edited. the rule says:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Whenever any fire alarm turns on
Then turn Smoke RRS-MOD (Out3) ON
Whenever any fire alarm cuts off
Then turn Smoke RRS-MOD (Out3) OFF
------------------------------------------------------------------
What position does switch need to be in on RRS-MOD?

Alright now its working. The switch on the RRS-MOD needs to be in the ON position. Now the only thing I haven't figured out is once I trip the smoke the alarm & fire warning goes off and I can enter the code and it only disables the Alarm and not the fire warning. I tried getting into menu from KPNAV to reset smokes. Doesn't let you do it. May be you need to power down the panel is the only way.

I had a similar issue, there is a long thread on here somewhere about it.  For some reason while everything was blaring the keypad wouldnt respond (especially noticeable trying to get into the menus to reset the smokes)

I had to "slow down" the slow loop response time to about 600ma in ElkRP2.  Its interesting yours is behaving the same as mine, but I could never find anyone else having the same issue.

Im starting to wonder if using the RRSMOD with the switch in the wrong position initially causes a problem with it (or the M1)

Did you do that in Cutoff Timers from 65535 to 600? Did it work for you?

Thanks

No! not cutoff timers

In globals, one of the tabs has the timings for Slow Loop Response Time and Fast Loop Response Time.

I slowed the slow loop response down to 600ms (I think default was 400ms)

Never did figure out why that was an issue.  There are at least a few people on here with the same setup that never had to adjust anything.

Thanks Chrisexv6

Interesting how some do not need the tweek.... The default was 200ms. I changed it to 600ms and What do you know it works...
Tried to find the definition of Slow & Fast Loop Response on the internet. No luck. Just trying to understand it better.
