Elk M1XEP Digi Connect Box...is this normal?

Is it normal for the Digi Connect ME RJ45 module on the M1XEP board to sit several millimeters off the PB board at the back end?  (The only metal box)  The front side is in contact.  See image.

It's not MIL-spec, but as long as the terminals are soldered, I would consider it "normal" for this type of product.
