elk thermostat question

From reading this forum, it seems that after some wiring troubles, folks have gotten the RC1000/2000 thermostats from hai to work with elk m1 gold... Can anyone confirm if you can adjust the temperature and heat/cool modes, etc via telephone? You could probably trigger a rule, but wondering if you can actually set the temp via a touch-tone phone (omni supports this). Also, I thought I read something about the humidity function not working on the Rc2000 via elk but can't find it now... any comments (can you write a rule based on humidity and temp)? Thanks.

I'm still a bit new at the ELK, but am pretty sure you would need to predefine a temp and then trigger the setting with a automation task. 'Automation Tasks' are the only thing accesible from the keypad and thus through the phone as well.

But how many setting do you really need? In my house in the winter the T-state is either on:
- 60 when we sleep or are away and nobody is home
- 66 when we're home
- 68 when we have friend or whatever over since we like it cold but most people dont.

For summer it's a similar situation...so 3 rules/tasks do the trick for me.
