ELK Virtual Keypad on Macintosh

I have gotten Virtual Keypad to work on my local network and remotely (with forwarding of ports 80, 26 and 2601).  Only problem is that Virtual Keypad only works if I have user names and passwords blank on the Password Tab on the M1XEP tab of Elk RP software.  Whenever I put user name and password in, the Mac (Safari or Firefox) asked for name and password and seems to connect in Java.  I get the normal "welcome to your M1" start-up screen asking for my access code and a connect button.  But when I type the code and try to connect, I get an error message that "Your control is busy or unavailable, try again".  Try again fails too.

Is this a common problem?  I have tried reseting the  M1XEP and the ELK-M1 to no avail.

It's a known issue; something to do with the java app compatibility, and as you've discovered, getting rid of the username/password is the known workaround.

If you don't like that, another option is just to get ElkRMS or even M1toGo to work on your Mac using Wine - I did it in like 15 minutes and it was my first time ever using wine - here's the post I did: http://cocoontech.com/forums/topic/21207-elkrms-runs-on-mac-osx/

Personally I can't stand the virtual keypad so I either use my phone or RMS.

Thanks.  I do have my iphone working with eK Alarm.  I dont have ElkRMS so not an option.  I could try M1toGo but need to investigate Wine (I have not used it),  I use Elk RP through Parallels and that works fine, but my preference is always native mac functionality.  The web seemed like a good approach, and I think for now I just keep user ID blank.  Thanks
