elk vs hai

i am really tempted to use ELK in my new set up but my integrator is pushing HAI. can you guys give me the differences.

Very similar systems, but HAI does offer more additional accessories such as intercom, video surveillance, etc. You should probably ask your integrator why he is pushing HAI over ELK, and share that info here.

If you like and trust your integrator then just go with his recommendation, you won't be disappointed. Of course, Elk is nice too, just saying don't go crazy trying to find a different integrator if you like the one you have. Most integrators have to specialize on one product as there are significant investments in training, etc.

It will take the installer longer to install and set up the Elk, if he usually installs HAI. He'll likely charge more for labor for the Elk.

I don't mean to offend you, but if you don't know the differences between them, why are you tempted to use Elk?

If your integrator is recommending this, and he feels comfortable with it, I would certainly take his advice. If you don't trust him, then you probably need to find a new integrator. HAI gives lots of training to integrators as well as provides support for them, so its not surprising that he would go that route. If you want something different than what he has been trained in and has experience installing, then you need to find a different integrator, but as others have said, I would be hesitant to do that unless you have a good reason.
