ELKRM on Android OS cell phone?

KentDub,

Just stumbled upon this thread as I wait for Verizon Wireless to get more stock of Droid X's. I've currently got an HTC Touch Pro and one of the only apps I can't bring with me so far is the Elk-RM software. I'd be happy to help Q/A your work. I've got Elk running 18 zones, garage door openers, sprinkler system zones, Insteon lighting, and three IP network cameras (Panasonic & Axis). I tried to PM you, but since I just setup my account, my guess is they're limiting my access currently.

Thanks,
NerdboyTodd

Just waiting on one last legal thing before it can be released =)

I'm expecting a new DroidX late this week or early next week so the app will be tested on it as well. While I've been waiting on the business end of things, I've made some enhancements to the app, including a major speedup in how fast the app detects what zones/outputs/etc. you have (it's now directly tied to how many items you have configured). A new notification system has been added as well. I'm thinking about playing around with TTS today as I've discovered with soo many notifications playing the same notification sound you always have to check the phone and don't know which ones you can safely ignore. No promises that TTS will be included in the initial release -- it's on the radar though.

This app is going to blow you guys away. I won't say much because I don't think I should be sharing privileged information, but I've watched it bloom and all I can say is that it is better and has more functionality than I ever imagined when I first had the opportunity to test it out.
Kent is doing an outstanding job and I'm sure that he won't disappoint. Maybe I just get overly excited over these things, but it feels like I just discovered that I can leap 10 feet in the air. ;)

I'm more than ready and willing to test if needed. Missing the WinMo app as I did a lot from that phone. Swapped to Android and that's the only piece I'm missing.

Thanks for the kind words! It has been fun seeing how the app has evolved over the last sprint, it's turned from "getting it to work" to a focus on usability, customization, and features. I can't wait to get it out and work on some requests from the people who purchase it!

Thanks Andy =) Expect to see it on the marketplace shortly. I hate to sound like other manufacturers and keep pushing the date back. For those that have waited patiently, I'm waiting on icons from my graphics guy and working with my team to do final checks to ensure it is bug-free. Home stretch!

I'm looking forward to it too! As an Android user, I have become accustomed to waiting. But, things are always well worth the wait! Consider me a future buyer of this app.
