Just got new Energy Detective TED 5000..very cool. Had a problem with setup (my fault, but tech spent about 30 min troubleshooting till we figured it out)

Display is very nice and portable, and pc software (footprints) meets my needs.

Also seems very responsive, I turn on a light and a second later the display shows me energy used and cost$

I like the idea of giving a cost with this unit, but I ended up going with the Brultech ECM-1240 since it can monitor multiple circuits individually. Does anyone know how one would calculate KWH usage and cost with the Brultech?

I'm averaging all collected data over 1 minute, and writing it to a mysql database.

Cost depends on your utility pricing structure. If you have a straight rate, then it's a lot easier.

KWH is easily calculable. what is the data you're collecting? Watts?
