Entry Door - Time Delay

I am having a problem with my door entry time delay feature.

Checking the log, I found that I had a Motion Detector that is pointed towards the entry door that is triggering an alarm.

So, to fix that I set the Motion Dialer Delay to 40 seconds to allow time to enter the passcode before Monitoiring is called.

But, I notice in the log that the Door (Burglar Entry) was also immediately tripped.

1) Did the Motion trip cause the door to also trip immediately?
2) Where do you set the delay time for Burglar Entry? is it the same as the Dialer Delay?
3) Any option to add seconds to the log time stamp?

Thanks, Paul

Your Door zone type should be set to "Burglar Entry/Exit 1 or 2"
Your motion should be zone type "Burglar Interior Follower"

Your entry/exit delays are set in the "Area" configuration

There is no option that I am aware of to add seconds to the log stamp (would be nice).

Sounds like a programming issue, with the PIR not set as interior follower, and if coverage pattern and sensitivity adjustment on the PIR is too sensitive, could possibly be allowing the PIR to trip prior to the contact starting the delay time.

If interior follower or judicious masking of the motion doesn't suffice, then an interior delay zone is in order.

I apologize on my butting into this message thread, but I have a question:

What is the difference between "Burglar Interior" and "Burglar Interior Follower"?

I tried to search for an explanation of the ElkM1 zone setups/definitions in their manuals, to no avail.
I have had my interior motion detectors setup as burglar interior without any issue.
What would I gain by changing to the follower setup?

Page 30/31 of the manual, descriptions of all the zone types and functions. I wouldn't recommend a burg interior zone be used for 99% of the installs out there.

DEL,
Thanks for the manual location.
Now I understand the differences.
In my case, the motions are not looking at the main entry way.
I will keep this in mind if/when adding any future motions..
