I did some googleing and found this device... called the manufacturer and verfied it would work for what i needed my AC unit requires 12 amps with a 14amp cycle up this is rated for 15amps.   http://dataprobe.com/iboot-g2.php

I would get the enhanced version and have something like THIS be monitored with it if temp is "really" important to you also.

I have some iBoot hardware, and I am far from impressed with their quality.  The firmware used to be buggy and doesn't offer many features.  Of course things might have changed, but try to find an online demo before you decide.
 
The Web Power Switch supports 15A as well (unless I read the label wrong), and offers a lot more IMO.
