Hi
Finally setting up my Elk M1G after over a year. I am a little rusty because I did all my research so long ago. Was hoping for some clarification on a few questions:
- Input Expander - Do I wire this right into the ELK-M1DBH ? I assume I can just run the 4 wires it needs, and terminate into the M1DBH with an RJ-45 plug?
- Speakers - I have 3 of the small speakers that mount behind the keypads. Can I use an un-used pair of wires from the cat5 being used for the keypad to power this? I have a wire (18/2) at 2 of 3 keypad locations, but the front door keypad only has a single cat5.
-Siren -I also have one siren for outside. Would I wire the siren into output 2? How would I wire in the 2 speakers?
- Output relay expander - I have this in the box and I forgot why I even bought it. What would I need this for??
Lastly, when using the M1DBH, from the manual it looks like I just need to put the RJ-45 resistor into the first unused jack. I just want to make sure I don't need a second resistor somewhere. All of my cables are home run.
Thanks!
