Getting ElkRP software

I recently purchased a full ELk M1Gold system (from Automated Outlet) and have successfully installed all the basic components. I need the RP software to get the ethernet interface working, so I registered as an ELK Dealer (as per the instructions) late last week. But I haven't heard boo from them yet, so I wondered if I missed some critical step.

I tried re-registering yesterday figuring that my application might have fallen in a holiday hole, but still nothing. Now I'm worried that since my serial number is registered twice (although to the same address and real name) that it might really gum up the works.

Should I have made up a company name instead of putting "DIY Installer" in the company field? Is it typically several days before a password is mailed to access the forums and software?

I'd really like to get the software so that I can work on the rest of my system this weekend, so any clues would be much appreciated!

Am I doing something wrong, or just too impatient?

ELK is unlike most companies out there. Just call their toll free number tomorrow morning and they should be able to help you. Real live people answer their phone and their tech support is not outsourced.

Yea, thats really surprising -usually it gets set up same or next day. Like Robert said - give them a call tomorrow and they should get you going. If there is some kind of weird problem, and you don't get in tomorrow, PM me and I can help.

I was told that the server is now supposed to issue an account and password automatically. There has been some server problems this week however.

Just call ELK Support!

I had the same issue. Looks like their email server is not behaving. Call their tech support and they'll give you a password (just did today and I am in business now).

Hey sweet! Sad to say I never even considered a phone call. That's a statement about most customer service these days :) I'll give them a call tomorrow. Thanks a ton.

Yup. called them and instantly had a live person on the line who solved the issue in 30 seconds. About as good as it gets.

Thanks everyone. That was very easy. The Elk guys were great and everything was like butter.

Now to try to find the M1XEP on the network...
