I managed to get a mint HAI 1503 console in the original box. Looks like it was never installed.
If you power it up it reports "System Failure". When I hook up the A and B lines, I either get System Failure or random Q's on the display.
It passes its built in self test. Maybe it only works on the 1503?
If anyone wants to see some pictures, let me know. Date Codes are all 1988-1993 inside. It uses flat head screws with no washers for the cable hookup.
It came with the optional real wood box for table mounting it...
