Haiku HAI and the iPAD

one more feature request: when a zone is bypassed, Haiku tells me it is bypassed but does not appear to tell me whether it is Secure/Not Ready. Knowing which one it is before restoring the zone would be helpful.

I can't seem to get my HAI IP Cameras to work with Haiku. If I type the url of the camera (with :MJPEG over HTTP port) directly into my ipad Safari browser, it pulls the camera feed right up. Also works this way in my HAI Snaplink iphone application. Any help? Thanks. Steve

Just upgraded to 2.5 and my auxiliary zones are still showing up on the status page insecure section.

This creates an annoyance because HAI keypads don't show them as messages, so I have created custom messages for things like my rain sensor and outside motions so they show on the keypads if needed, but in Haiku it now doubles up as a message and a not ready zone on the status page.

Another annoyance for my setup is that custom messages pop a modal dialog in Haiku, along with a ignore/dismiss prompt. I would really like to disable this modal dialog in settings and have custom messages just act like the not ready zones(they show on status screen and cycle through in the top status bar). Perhaps some/most users like the modal, it really doesn't fit in the way I use them and not they way they are presented on the HAI keypads.

Also it would be nice if Haiku honored the beep/no beep setting for the message display.

Thanks.

Auxiliary zones do currently show up, we can change this if you feel it is incorrect though.

The modal dialog actually also pops up on the OmniTouch. If you send a no beep/no alert message Haiku already will respect it and not make a sound and will not show the pop up.

Added to TODO.

You need to enter a specific URL for the HAI camera server:
Code:
http://ip-address-of-your-camera-server/enc-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?camera=1&fps=15&resolution=VGA&compression=70
Set the camera to the camera # you wish to add. You can adjust the resolution, fps and compression to your liking.

HAI keypads do not report aux zones as not ready like they do other zone types, this is why I have created messages for those aux zone. If my rain sensor goes not ready I show a "rain" message so it displays on the keypads, otherwise it would not be visible. I am actually glad it works this way because I can apply more logic to the message display on top of the not ready zone. For instance my outside motions display a message for 5 minutes after motion is detected, not just while the zone is violated.

IMO this behavior in Haiku is incorrect since it does not match they HAI keypad behavior.

I also would not consider the message pops to be modal on the HAI keypads, they pretty much display like a not ready zone message, you are not forced to make a decision with them before proceeding, they are simply displayed and can be dismissed if needed, this would be the case in Haiku if the modal dialog wasn't poped, it would show at the top and on the status screen without interrupting the user. Perhaps even something more like the new notifications coming in iOS5 where a message slides from the top then goes away after a few seconds would be nice, but honestly I would be happy if I could just turn the modal pops off.

I will have to check again but I was getting the modal pop with a sound even when the message was displayed with no beep.

Sorry, but I can't seem to get this to work. If I enter the ip address into a normal (non Safari) PC web browser, it pulls up the camera web server (and asks for id and password). Normally, I just put in the ip address:XXXX into the ipad safari browser, where XXXX is what I have defined as the MJPEG over HTTP port that I have defined from the web server application. No id and password required as I am going directly to the stream and not trying to access the web server. Works this way directly from my iPad Safari browser or the Snaplink iphone application. Thanks. SJ

I like having the auxillary zones (which are named) show up! Don't get rid of this or allow this to be an option. Thanks. SJ

Sorry, I thought you had a camera server. In fact its an HAI IP camera. You should be able to go to the camera page on your web browser as you describe and then View Source and there you will see the URL for the actual MJPEG image which you can enter into Haiku.

However, the aux zones behave exactly like the snaplink iPhone application which I prefer. SJ

View source in IE would show the web server stream which I don't want. MJPEG stream does not work in IE for this camera. I did try view source in Safari, and it doesn't show anything for the MJPEG stream. Has anyone got this work before? It's so simple on the Snaplink application and in Safari (IP address: MJPEG port). Gosh, I hope this works as I assumed it did when I purchased! Need camera views to work. Seems like more folks will be moving to IP cameras like the HAI. Thanks for any help. SJ

If you can PM me an address and/or user/pass to test with I'm sure I can figure it out. I don't understand why HAI's camera's are different like this... but I'm pretty sure someone else here already has gotten it working. Its just a matter of getting the URL to the MJPEG image and putting it into Haiku.

Sorry, but I don't give out that information. Guess I'll have to wait as I assume somebody will get it to work. Thanks. SJ

Interesting in the screen shots and demo video they don't even show any zones on the status page. It looks just like normal snap-link and Web-link's status page which show no zone info:

iPhoneStatus.jpg

From the Omni install manual:

"A zone defined as AUXILIARY is ignored for security. It is used to activate macros or to conditionalize programs. This is the
default setting for all zones. Zones that are not in use should be configured as AUXILIARY."

This is why they are ignored by keypads and all HAI software I have ever used. You can still view their state in in zone screens but they are not a security zone and therefore do not affect that status of the system.

Sorry, you are right. Meant that they display on the security zones screen. The status screen on the iPhone app is very limited. I have a few zones that I monitor that are aux and named. SJ

Hi, i install system in Panama, he use here a FUHU dvr that is made in taiwan, i have all the sdk documents, and files. I tried to look for the source but i wasent able to find it. if you can do something to fix this ill email you more info

Hi,

Had a few questions on the Haiku application:
1. How to use the "rooms" button? I mean where does it "map" to in the HAI?
2. The scene numbers don't seem to work. Is it possible to show only the relevant scene numbers (relevant to the light number)?
3. The Light unit names are picked up from the "name" field of the light units. Is it possible to display them from the light unit description field?
4. I am using the Centralite protocol to integrate HAI omniPro II with the lighting system. When I assign buttons to lighting scenes, the scenes execute. However when I click on the scene number, in the individual unit's screen), the scenes don't seem to play.

The application is very nice, and I am enjoying using it.

Regards
Ajey
