Thanks for the notes, gents. A discussion with Verizon brought the cost of the landline down to only $15 / month with unlimited calling, so that part of the reason for a change was negated (you get their attention when you call to drop services, and don't take the first "deal" they offer). I'm still on the fence re: buying the C3 for a security backup, but if I go forward with it I'll post a review.
