HAI card reader contact inputs?

I have the HAI 75A00-1 card readers.

I'm curious though. There are 3 inputs to the card reader, Request to Exit, and aux 1, and aux 2.

I know what Request to exit is for, but what do the 2 aux inputs do?
They show them in the manual hooked up to contact switches, but not a word about what they do.

They "do" what you want them to and nothing more. IOW, you don't need them, but you can set them up for different things. One would be a "double door" situation. Think of going through one door, and then having to go through another door but it won't open until the first door is closed.
I haven't found any other purposes for them.

That's great, but how do you set it up, as you say?
There is not a word about it in the documentation.

PC Access shows the card readers, and nothing else. They don't show up as zones or anything else I can find.

I understand the double door concept - we use man traps at work.

The Request to exit or REX can be used to exit the building if the alarm is active.
It will temporarily "turn off" the contact allowing the occupant to exit without setting off the alarm.
You can have a motion or button press rex.

I just spoke with HAI, the auxiliary contact inputs are non-functional.
He said it is possible that they may have some purpose in the future, but currently they do nothing.
