HAI OMNI with a Mac

The Iphone Smarthings interface looks ok to me.  It's $50 for the Smartthings Hub and the iPhone is already connected to the internet.

You might as well utilize it or just wait for an Apple interface to the OmniPro 2 panel.

Here not tethered to an operating system or smartphone OS. (or a smartphone).

I do see though how this can cause issues relating Apple users to the OmniPro panels interface and I have read some low marks for Snaplink Mobile.

The OmniPro panel was made to last before the time of tethering phones and in general before the times where folks watched their stuff 24/7 and it did involve the integration of security with automation at the time before the internet.
You purchased it one time.  Here the first security / automation panel was purchased in the late 1990's and worked fine for me until the purchase of the Omni Panel in the early 2000's.

I did get addicted in the late 1990's with GPRS mobile connectivity (globally) and it was fine to watch and it did old and I stopped in the 2000's knowing that all was fine at home.  Early smartphones used Palm OS or MS CE.  That was all that was available back then.  The smart phone had already been reinvented a few times along with the touch tablet.

Just recently here helped a forum user configuring his CCTV.  For the first time he could watch it wherever he was and started to do this whether he was at work, walking on the street or driving a vehicle and even going on vacations.

I have a Mac and run HaikuHelper on it as well as Haiku on the iPhones. It works very well for my automation, but I don't use it as a UI other than via web interface.
For the OP, depending on what your goals are, you can go any of the already suggested routs, or just configure your firewall and log into Snaplink from the outside. Snaplink works just fine, it allows full control of the Omni system but not in a fancy way. With a little configuration, you can make a "front tab" with all the buttons you frequently use outside the home. As for PC Access, just get a cheap PC as ano suggested. Omni Pro is still one of he best controllers for a DIY homeowner, but most people don't realize that the grass is not always greener elsewhere.
