HAI OmniproII - Can I monitor when I loose power to an outlet?

I have a appliance module plugged into a GFI outlet in my basement that feeds my garden lights via an outdoor outlet.

When we get heavy rain, the GFI outlet trips (as it should).

Is there a way to get notified when this GFI outlet trips? Can I have the Omnipro2 tell me when it does not see one of my appliance modules?

I can't think of an easy way to do it. I don't think there are any GFCI's with automation capababilites, let alone monitoring capabilities. You might be able to rig something. I thinking of the AC output of the outlet powering a relay that sends a signal to your HAI panel. This would take a lot of work and wiring.

Maybe someone else can think of something better?

You would have to do it with a relay attached to a zone or a UPB IO module on a DIFFERENT circuit.
UPB is passive, it doens't continually poll for the presence of units.

You could send periodic status requests but that would generate a lot of UPB traffic and I'm not sure a "no response" would be correctly processed by the HAI controller..

If adding wire is possible, Connecting a relay to the load side of the GFCI would work. Drive a 120v coil relay, and provide dry contacts back to a zone input on the HAI.
