You should download trials of BeyondTV and SageTV, if they don't float your boat you aren't out anything. Sage as native support for Hauppauge's Media MVP, these can be had for as little as $39 (Radio Shack tring to offload them, gotta search.) and support the full UI and capabilities on a SD TV.
