Hello from Minnesota

Greetings,

I'm an avid techie/geek who has recently found the joys of an automated home. I can't believe that I've been turning lights on and off by hand all these years like a fool. :-)

I have a mostly Insteon setup run by an ISY-99i, with a few X10 things (mostly keyfobs). I've been a home theater junkie for years and am now researching distributed/multi-zone audio.

Got it working. Must have to have >3 posts. I've been reading the forum for months, so it seems weird to think of one's self as a "new" member. Anyway, all is good now!

Actually, you were the smart one, we are all fools. We are the ones spending lots of money on fancy switches only to sometimes pull our hair out troubleshooting weird noise or other issues. ;)

Welcome to CocoonTech, and don't worry, we'll help you spend the remainder of your money.

Hello from another specific part of Minnesota. I live in the Como Park area of St. Paul to be exact.

Like Steve said, we'll be happy to tell you all kinds of ways to spend your money. I just keep saying to myself "It's only a hobby, it's only a hobby, not an addition." ;)

Greetings from the next state over (Northern Wisconsin)

And don't worry about that bank account you won't even remember what it used to look like.

Congratulations on actually installing your switches, most of my equipment sits on the shelf for months before I even think about testing it.

Thanks for the welcome, guys! I'm already addicted to the home automation. I find myself trying to figure out new ways to use the system. Things I never would have thought about when I started. In addition to the multi-room audio, I'm contemplating how best to set up a way to monitor the washer and dryer.

For the locals, I'm just outside Minneapolis, in Crystal to be exact.
