help with 1-wire

Starting with temp 8 and temp sensors inside and out. whats best wire to use? cat 5? anyone have a wiring primer for this?

Much has been discussed about this over the years on the Homeseer board as there is not a single way to do it and there are advantages/disadvantages to the various approaches. Most starting out will tend to want to wire in homerun fashion such as is done with Ethernet/LAN. The 1-wire technology prefers a daisychain approach where each temp sensor is mounted as close as possible to the main line. For the homerun topology a 1-wire hub is desirable to prevent reflection and interference that occurs with branching. Cat 5 is a good wire to use.
