Is there a way to export/import the insteon garage relays and sensors into elk other than via the lighting import/export ....i exported and imported the garage relays and sensor..but it ends up in the lighting section in elkrp..it is hard to set up rules and control the relay..
Thanks..Tony

Not sure if I follow, as you didn't mention which insteon device you're using and how, and what may or may not be attached to it, but the M1 is dragging the information and config in correctly, insteon is a lighting device and controllable as such.

Easy enough to send on/off commands for the relays via rules.

I am using the INSTEON 74551 GARAGE DOOR CONTROL & STATUS KIT...
I have installed it and can see it with insteons admin console and control my garage door accordingly..
After that I had exported and imported into M1 and it comes in as a selection for lighting data in elkrp...I was to be able to cintrol the garage however have toggle from on to off for it to work..
Also want to use the garage sensor in rule writing for when system is armed and away and if sensor is open theme automatically close garage door but unable to write a rule
Thanks for the reply

To operate the relay portion you would provide a timed event for X time. For the contact portion, I'm unsure if the 74551 would allow it to report as an "on" or "off" to the system or as a different device, but the manual states you would link the contact to a unit that device. "Load status communication" portion of the release notes.

Basically you need to have the control portion trip another insteon device for the M1 to see it from everything I'm reading.
