HLC question

I am starting to install switches... and I am sure I will have many questions.

In my family room I have a 3 gang setup. 1 switch is to a ceiling fan, 2 is to a wall socket, 3 is to a light on the ceiling.

Some questions:

For the ceiling fan switch... this basically has to be an on-off switch correct?

EDIT - I think there is a 15 amp load controller that might be better for a ceiling fan.

The ceiling light switch I plan to replace with a HLC dimmer.

For the wall switch socket... well, I hate these things. I never actually use them. Is there anyway to use a scene switch here instead? Would I need to just wire the wall switch as on all the time and use the gang opening to hold the scene switch.. Or can the scene switch itself direcly control 1 load? I've always wondered how people retrofit these in... other than just adding an additional wall box... which I don't really want to do.

Edit - I looked at the install instructions and a scene switch can not control a load directly... it only controls other UPB switches. It would have been very cool if it could have controlled a load... then you don't need an exta hole in the wall for it.

Thanks in advance!

I would use an HLC relay switch for the fan, HLC dimmer for the ceiling light, jumper the receptacle in the wall switch box so that it is always on, and install a scene switch in place of the receptacle switch.
