Home Auto's HAI New 2008 Catalog

Oh great, I just had an Omni II Pro installed 2 weeks ago ;) Wonder if the brain can be upgraded so future firmware is flashable. Like the new thermostat and it can show stats of how the HAVC been working for the week.

Interesting....

Also, it looks like their "new" 8.4" in-wall and portable touchscreens are the exact same models as what Convergent Living and Cortexa use for their screens, just with installed HAI software. It will be interesting to see what HAI charges for the same thing.

I would also like to know more about the option to hook up the new thermostats to utility demand meters to display power usage information. Very Cool!

Also note that the main board now has 5 serial ports built in. Lots of new options to drool over.

Thanks, I didn't know that. Will have to play with the MLHAI plugin. With the current Omni Pro II controller, how many serial ports do I get? So far I know I have the x10 interface plugged in somewhere to the board. But the serial should be a different port.

Besides all the cool new stuff in the 2008 catalog, apparently the protocol has been revamped to make it easier for third party automation packages to talk to HAI panels. These guys are really serious about growing their share of the Home Automation market!

The current Omni Pro II board has 3 serial, 1 Eithernet and 1 X-10 port on it. You can add a 4th (and 5th?) serial port with expander boards.

4th but not 5th.
