How Hot Is it

At work we left a can of coke inside a truck and forgot about it. After a few days that coke can was buldging and looked like it was going to explode. I tossed it up in the air and it hit the concrete, burst and launched itself about four feet off the ground! ;) I was impressed!

I think I remember a picture where a can of coke exploded inside a car and managed to crack a windshield.

I had a can of Coke freeze in my van and explode. It didn't damage anything, but it covered the ceiling with Coke.

I had a 12 pack of soda explode in my car from the cold, my wife had placed it on floor behind the drivers seat and forgot about it.

Luckily it so cold, that when I noticed it sometime later it was still ice and slush sitting on an all weather floor mat. It got a couple of drops on the seat, door and ceiling but that was it.

I thought it was amazing. ;).

Speaking of Maine, I had to take a plane flight from New Jersey about 6 in the morning and it was 94 degrees, I landed in Maine and the temp was 79 degrees. I was amazed to watch a bunch of people sitting in a park complaining about the Hot dog days of summer.

It's all relative.

What was the heat index and that day? That's the true measure or how hot it feels.
OK Rupp, here you go. Look at the attached screen shot for weather in Las Vegas today. Looks like it will get up to a balmy 115 degrees with a "heat index" of 120! ;)

Sort of funny, I know I've read John Wilson's posts about how winter time is his time for home automation projects. It's the direct opposite here! I'm staying inside!

I "feel" for you BSR! That is HOT.

Guess I'm lucky here in SouthEast Tennessee. Right now temp is 82 with a heat index of 107.

Still bad enough for me to stay inside this afternoon. Outside projects can wait till Fall!

Car Automation Project: temp sensor near ceiling triggers fans or rolls down windows a 1/2" if it goes above a certain setpoint... rain sensor outside makes sure the car windows are closed and don't open if the rains comes. hehe

What about that solar-powered AC unit for cars in hot climates? Does that work?

And you know how they have speed-controlled volume on radios now? What about speed-controlled intermittent wipers? Oh sorry, off-topic...

Well around ten days later and now look at the temp (almost a 40 degree difference). Finally getting some relief from the heat!

My 2000 Buick Lesaber does have something similair. There is a sensor that speeds up the wipers if the windshield gets more rain on it. Not sure what sensor they use but it works pretty slick.
